After the Wijkerbroek Oost and West Solar Parks officially went ‘online’ on November 11 and 13, 2023, respectively, the signing of the cooperation agreement with the Wijks Environmental Fund took place. In January 2024, photos were taken of the completed Wijkerbroek West solar park. (see picture below)

Remarks
Within the planning area, an experimental setup will be constructed with experimental projects. The experimental projects involve covering pear trees with semi-transparent panels and installing various bi-facial solar panel configurations to investigate the impact of solar panels on soil life and biodiversity. The latter project, SolarEcoPlus, is conducted in collaboration with TNO and Wageningen University (WUR). The panels for both experiments will be installed in the spring when the ground is accessible again.
